RAY BAILEY – MANAGING DIRECTOR

Ray entered the curtain walling business straight from University, taking up a trainee contracts manager position with Elemeta in 1981. Ray worked for a number of curtain walling contractors before starting the original Harley business back in 1997. Ray’s vision was to create a high quality contracting business, operating in the field of external envelopes, servicing a small number of key client’s in London and South East. Ray has a keen eye for the technical side of the business, as well as over 25 years practical experience of operating on site as a specialist contractor. Father of three sons, Ray enjoys Skiing, motor sport, and is a long time loyal fan of Tottenham Hotspur FC!
 

 

 

MARK STAPLEY – DESIGN MANAGER

Mark started his career in the drawing office at HCP, a perimeter heating and cladding contractor back in 1986. A move into curtain walling came in 1988 when Mark joined a Sussex based Kawneer fabricator, working as a draftsmen in a busy design office. Mark was recruited by the original Harley business back in 1998, initially in the design office, but has since developed a more executive role overseeing both the design and technical departments. Mark’s vast experience is invaluable in ensuring Harley provides the best levels of service to its clientele. Mark is an avid supporter of Chelsea FC, and enjoys supporting his daughter, Olivia, in her many tennis tournaments around Sussex.

MARK HARRIS – COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Mark’s career in construction started in 1985, working for a small Hastings based shopfitting company, carrying out general office duties and supporting project staff. A move into the curtain walling business came in 1988, when Mark joined a Sussex based Kawneer fabricator working alongside Ray Bailey and Mark Stapley. Mark joined the original Harley business at the end of its first year of trading to undertake the role of sales, marketing, and contract negotiations, plus all commercially related matters including monthly financial reporting and valuations. As the business expanded, Mark’s remit increased to managing the estimating department, business development, and building relationships with key supply chain partners. Mark is a big fan of motor sport, particularly speedway and F1.


 

   

MIKE ALBISTON – ESTIMATING MANAGER

Mike started his career as junior quantity surveyor, initially with Rider Hunt & Partners, before a move in 1990 to QS firm Mellish & Lynch to take a more senior position. A move into the world of facades in 1994 saw Mike join Surrey based Stoakes systems, initially as assistant estimator, eventually leading to position of Estimating Manager heading up the department. Mike worked for Stoakes for 18 years up to the point when the business owner decided to close down operations due to his retirement. Mike has vast experience in assessing tender specifications and drawings, and preparing fully detailed facade bid documents. Mike has a very flexible approach and has become a valuable member of the team at Harley. Mike can often be seen down at Selhurst Park watching his favourite team, Crystal Palace FC.

From early stages of planning, supply chain management, procurement, site logistics, and installation crews, Harley site managers are fully experienced and qualified in all aspects of construction management and health & safety. Harley has enjoyed a high level of repeat business as a result of the company's professional approach to managing projects.
